Hi again everybody,
From what I have seen as far as heavy vehicles go fielding them in pairs is far more successful than the obvious advantage of double the vehicle. Two Vindicators is frightening so is two to three properly built Predators.
My question is what is the best way to field these tandems? And can a mix be as successful as two of the same. Could a Vindicator, predator team bounding up the middle support each other effectively?
I often field a Vindicator and Dakka Predator combination with great success. Typically, the Predator stays behind shooting up infantry and light to medium vehicles. The Vindicator, of course, moves up the board with the transports. With careful use of terrain, positioning and smoke launchers from transports it'll draw a lot of fire and survive to wreak havoc on the enemy line.
I've been fielding a vindicator with a couple of dreadnoughts on same area of the board together quite well. Unfortunately, lighter autocannons and plasma can easily destroy the dreds.
Taking this idea though, I have two preds I'm building right now that I will field with the vini in hopes the armor combo will pay off. Not sure how it will go but I will let you know.
I'd really like to buy one or two more vindis and a third pred but I can't justify them since outside of apoc I can't use them together (if only because I already have 3 of them combined plus a LR!) I guess I'll wait to be convinced by someone...
