Has anyone tried this out? if so what powers and tactics did you use? i was thinking of putting him as a 2nd HQ in my DIY chapter, biker army to help boost the armies assault capability. Army also includes biker command squad, and captain on bike, not sure if the libby would be better off as an additional member of the command squad, (captain+command squad+libby?) only thing is that would be a tempting target for the opponent. or should i just put him in a normal biker squad.
Alot of things are still uncertain with this, including powers, tactics, placment and even how to gear out the command squad?
Any advice would be greatly appriciated
I havent tried it yet but I think it might be useful but I think its too expensive!!
Yes i agree it would really be a point sink, but i think it has some potential, another option would be the exact opposite use a mounted libby to enhance the shooty aspect of the army and maybe balance out the shooty/assaulty options.
I have tried it twice so far, included in all bike lists. I use Vortex and have thought about taking the invulnerable save also but it is not worth the points. The first game he finally made it to a squad of 5 enemy terminators in a ring around a lone space marine scoring model on an objective. I placed the blast on the scoring model and if it scattered any direction would hit terms. The Librarian suffered Perils and Vortexed himself - first time I ever used the power!
The second time was in a 3 game tournement. He killed alot with Vortex but the last game was verse demons with only invulnerable saves so the AP wasn't beneficial. The table was also riddled with lava flows, like alot. Many bikes died trying to cross the difficult terrain (dangerous for us of course). To be fair, some demons did die deepstriking into it. Overall, i would use him again in 1750+ games - but probably not less. Came in 2nd in the tourney after losing that last battle.
