putting together dark angels successor chapter (the consecrators, from the codex) and was wondering, when doing terminators for a successor chapter "death wing" should i still do the white color scheme or would it be ok to only do a portion like the helmets or something ? not really an all important question more like a nagging thought really. kind of want it to be proper contextually
I don't really think there is a right or wrong answer here. I see no reason why you can't incorporate your own modifications to the overall Deathwing color scheme. Think of it as your own Chapter honoring the Dark Angels as their founding Chapter.
yeah, the consecrators have an existing color scheme, but not anything about their deathwing colors, i'm sure fluff/universe wise they do honor the colors of the death guard, i mean who wouldn't :-P
You're right, there really isn't much out there on their Terminators. All in all I think you have an excellent idea by changing the helmet (but keep the red stripe) and/or the shoulder pads perhaps. The Consecrators bear a striking resemblance to the Dark Angels of pre-heresy days. Keeping that in mind I think Terminators with some 'Deathwing' colors added in would be proper contextually if I can borrow your words. A style similar in pattern to the Death Spectres from C: SM would be a simple yet effective look on a Consecrator Terminator. All black armor, 'deathwing' helm and single shoulder, red stripe down middle of helmet. It'd look good.
Whatever your decision I'm interested in how it turns out.
