I was just on another topic and I realized that our 200+ point calgar/Lynsander can get destroyed by a descent phycic.
They both have the Eternal Warrior special rule.
Page 74 of the rulebook states Eternal Warriors are immune to instant death. So the instant death ability from a Force weapon would have no effect per the Force weapon entry on page 50.

With a lucky hit & wound, Diresword can kill them.
Normal force weapons that use the the force weapon rules in the normal rule book can't instantly kill them, this is because they use the rule for instant death.
However the force weapons in the daemon hunter and witch hunter books don't have you refrence back to the entry in the rule book. However since the DH and WH codexes are from 3rd edition they have their own rules for force weapons and nemisis force weapons. Instead of inflicting instant death (which is ignored by eternal warrior) the slay the model outright.
So keep your special characters away from Grey Knight Grand Mastters and force weapon armed inquisitors!

But yeah, there's no shame in dying outright to a S6 uber force weapon that hits at I5. It's when the S3 T3 Inquisitor Lord insta-pwns Calgar or Lysander with his force weapon, that's when you start to get angry
Unless he manages to wound Cassius and then pass a psychic test, in which case Cassius is gone too.
I love Daemonhunter force weapons
