The Cadian 8th "Lord Castellans own" 2000pts

    OVERVIEW:

So, as you noticed there's been a lot of changes within the building of this list. This time, I completely revamped it.

For starters, I thought playing mind games with my enemy would be fun. It would prove practical against the witch races. I.E. Eldar Chaos. I have instilled a primaris psyker to manage 3 full primaris psyker squads, and all the squads have rides, to flank, or manipulate minds.

My primary choice is Creeds command squad. I dont care what you say about the astro path or the officer of the fleet. I took a trial run and i get reserves faster with an astropath. Needless to say the officer of the fleet does his job, holding enemy reserves back so I can get time. The body guards are there to keep creed alive longer, also he's got his own ride into battle.

I have bulit in three platoons, each with a command squad and a variety of combat, ranged, and support weapons to have each platoon be independent if need be.

THIS LIST HAS OVER 100+ Models, or troops, and I was quite surprised at this rate I could take this list against an ork hoard. And a collosus mortar to keep things in line. Just have it protected by one platoon.

Lastly, the sheer number of models on this list would probably daunt my opponent, which items to pick off first. If he can only shoot at the platoons for to or three turns, than I can crash my psykers in his flank.

Just have to keep the Collosus Mortar out of reach.

I noticed I might have a little trouble with Marines, or another Shooty army such as Tau. But overall, I think I did okay with this list from your guys advice.

BASICS: This list has over 90 troops as the backbone of the army, and around 9 full squads

    SUPPORT: Veterans - Collosus

Close Combat - Flamers / or psykers. Keep my platoon command squads a bit behind the front lines.

    PRIMARY WEAPONS: Flamers
Secondary Weapons: Heavy flamers - for those big nasties
Support: Auto Cannons - Plasma Guns - Lascannons

    Combat Veterans - Forward Sentries
    Support Veterans - Demolitions

just an FYI, veteran squads are not part of platoons. They're actually their own troops FOC choice each...

Yeah, so that makes this list having over 6 troop choices and therefore illegal.

Personally, I'd consider getting some more armour to round the list out.

Yeah, what kind of armour would u reccomend when I drop 1 or two veteran squads?

EDIT: The way they made it sound, it sounded like vet squads were part of a platoon.

Also advisors may only be put in company cmmand squads. No PCS advisors, also what did you mean by Master of the Watch? I'm thinking you meant Master of Ordance but i'm not completely sure.

Er..... Also you've only got one Infantry squad in your platoons. You need 2 minimum.

As for your list. you've tooled up on flamers but you really need to start equiping your units with chimeras so they actually get close enough to use them. Guard squads are so fragile that they'll never really get the chance to use their flamer unless there is A: thousands of them or B: A transport.

Loose the Forward sentries on your flamer vets and invest in some transports.

As for CREEDS unit. This is going to be numero uno squad for your opponent to kill. Putting even more characters in there and making it even more expensive just gives it a bigger "shot me i'm here" sign.

With only 4 Chimeras and one AV12 Collosus these boys are going to take alot of heavy antitank fire in 2000pts and they really don't have the armour to take it. You need to have a russ or something big and scary in there to take the fire away from these units. (especially creeds)

I've got 85 men (including vets) in 1000pts. So 100+ men at 2000pts isn't much to talk about. And with little armour to talk about you might suffer a bit.

Actually, Veterans are troop choices now so you don't need more than 6 troop choices total, these options include both Veterans and Platoons, so if you only have one Platoon, then thats fine as long as it's supported by other stuff.
