Meanwhile all the Guard players are thinking "AP5 bolters... what a rip".

here we go again, yes how DARE they put AP3 weapons with the exact same str as a lasgun on to models that cost more than a single space marine and can only have 30 maximum when Chaos can have allot more with a better save, Toughness, str, LD Invulnerable, WS, how DARE they, marines are all screwed now, my god Guard are so cheesy, it makes no sense at all as to why there allowed new toys.

I get warnings from mods to stop calling Marine players a bunch of whining children, but how many posts so far have croped up like this in the Marine section?

one day, they will stop whinging, one day.........not likely

It's not that bad christ, every army has some form of cheese, just deal with it, and hope you dont get hit by a chimera drive by of storm troopers.

Too expensive to be considered cheese, a chimera of new stormies costs and arm and a leg and has to be somewhat picky about it's deployment and target choice to have a chance of making it's cost back.

Why does everyone keep complaining about the new Guard codex? It really isn't as ridiculously overpowered as everyone says it is! OK, so they can field 9 Leman Russes in a battle if they want, but that's 1350 points for just standard Russes let alone better ones. In an average battle, that leaves 150 points for HQ and Troops... impossible. And sure, they have Storm Troopers with AP3 lasguns, but they're still BS3 and S3 so chances are they aren't going to wound you anyway, and they cost more than standard Marines in any case so they shouldn't be a problem. We have AP5 Bolters... enough to ignore almost any Guard save that isn't Carapace Armour. I really don't understand what everyone's complaining about, I've never had any trouble with it.

The only legitimate complaint about Guardsmen is...

Too many models! Considering I play Orks (which always win anyways XD) playing against Guard makes for a potentially long battle!

So. I don't want to hear any complaints about cheese this.. ripped that.. unless it's a complaint about 150 infantry + 50 "We'll be back!" conscripts!

Seriously though. The new Guard codex is actually very balanced considering the flavor of the other newly released Codices. It's just new, and just like when the new Space Marines came out.. we have to re-learn how to slaughter them ^-^

AP 3 yes, but they're still strength 3 also.

Shoot them before they shoot you and you won't have to worry about it.
