Veterans can take demo charges; Sly Marbo has a demo charge; You not taking Sly would be lame.
In the old codex, the method of using a demo charge was spelled out (d6 scatter, etc).
In the new codex, it's simply a Large Blast.
Therefore, it would seem, when using the demo charge, it can potentially scatter 7"- 8", depending on the user. Since this is more than the range, it can always go backwards, more so if the demo charge was thrown less than 6" to start.
Was this intended, or is this a mistake which will be corrected in the FAQ?
I'm sure it was intentional. After all it's a big satchel full of dynamite that's being thrown by hand, it's not beyond the realm of possibility that the bloke hefting it could muck up the fuse so it goes off earlier than it was supposed to, or it slips out of his hand and flies off in a weird direction, etc. etc.
moral of the story: do not bowl with explosives directly after eating an entire bucket of fried chicken.
*Marbo appears from reserve and throws a Demo Charge*
"Aha, I have you"
*But he throws like a girl and blows himself to pieces*
-enemy "So do we have to roll dice or something or do we just get the kill point?"
Blais's Paint Studio-Getting broken armies good soft scores since 2009
i just love demo doctraine... *chanting arabic* BOOOM!!!! /quote: Tallaran Demo Vet
I'm sure that wasn't necessary but anyway...
I believe thats correct, I've seen their handiwork (both in eliminating enemy and friendly units) and I think they are well worth the risk.
"But courage which goes against military expediency is stupidity..."
I wouldn't be surprised if the risk of losing Marbo in dramatic fashion wasn't introduced as a way to reduce his points cost.
It's such a great game moment when he is revealed, your opponent gasps in terror only to giggle as Marbo's cigar ignites the fuse early and he blows himself to kingdom come before you can say hotshots lasgun or Robert is my mother's brother...
