I have a Rhino kit and Razorback kit, What should i make?
Regardless of type they will both have the extra armor upgrade.
- 2 Razorbacks: 1 HBolter & 1 Lascan or
- 2 Rhinos or
- 1 Razor and 1 Rhino
What is the call brothers
"All of the tainted shall fall before me".
My vote is for 2 rhinos. Razorbacks with laz cannon is weak because of its crap armor and it can only transport 6 instead instead of ten. And nothing beats a rhinos pt cost
A moment of weakness spawns a life tme of heresy...
I bought a razorback kit, then the back part where the heavy weapon sits, and where the rhino doorsz would be. I didn't glue that and put a cupola on the other side that way I can shoose if I want to use a rhino or razorback before the game starts.
IG Best Gen 1st overall of 10 DE 4th overall of 6
Eldar 3rd Overall/Best General of 26--2nd Overall/Best General of 7--1st Overall/Best General of 11
I'd build both as Rhinos, but don't glue the doors to the top of the vehicle. I keep the heavy bolter and the part it connects to separate. That way I can have both depending on my needs.

If you make Razorbacks never give them Lascannons. Assault Cannons are better anti tank for the same points.
Time for some statistics methinks.Even with the change to Rending rules in 5th?
The percentages are for the chance to destroy or remove the vehicles usefulness (assuming the vehicle is specialized for either moving OR shooting) in one volley.
BS4 TL Ass Cannon
BS4 TL Lascannon
So yes, an Assualt Cannon is better than a Lascannon at anti tank.
Ah, I've been away awhile and don't trust my dusty Mathhammer skills anymore, and I haven't read up on all the new 5th rules yet, getting there thought.
Still, the AC is only slightly better, not even 2% better vs AV14, only at AV 10 levels is it a significant improvement. In Optimum conditions they may as well be equal except when dealing with AV 10
A more deciding factor is range in the Razorback's case, depending on whats it's going to be doing on the battlefield will decide which weapon you'll want IMO, if its oing to be haning back, adding firesupport and rushing a unit into the fray to fill a hole or to cap an objective I'd take TLLC, if its going to rush up then AC is not only effective agianst armor, it is a treat to troops as well, more so than the TLLC at least.
An accurate comparison of effectiveness by percent is:
Assualt cannons are;
10% better against AV14
13% better against AV13
7% better against AV12
6% better against AV11
50% better against AV10
Though I agree that the issue of range is a valid one depending on play style. If you want a defencive tank and/or are expecting many long ranged enemy vehicles (leman russes, predators etc.) then the longer ranged Lascannon should be considered. In any other situation the Assualt cannon is better then the Lascannon.
This argument is futile, these choices are bad. Melta weapons destroy tanks far easier. The attack bike is a cheaper and more difficult unit to stop from destroying tanks, than either of these tanks. And many other units are better at removing heavy infantry than a TL lascannon/assault cannon on your razorback. What makes the razorback good is its low target priorety and cheap point cost.
