Has anyone ever used the banners in the witchhunters armory? The one that grants fearless has some potential, as my sisters tend to get shot a lot, but is pretty pricey.
They might be cool if you've got a couple of Seraphim and some Celestians running as an assaulty spearhead, altough I can't really see much use for them outside of that. If you're footslogging simply putting a Booked up VSS in every squad pretty much ensures your Sisters will never run away, and the only Sisters units that are more likely to draw a combat than lose it are Celestians and Seraphim.
if u give the veteran superiors the Book of St. Lucius they pretty much get stubborn off of leadership 9 so what would be the point of making them fearless. I like the sacred standard cause it adds plus 1 to the combat res for u which might be useful.
Ok, I never used a sacred standard before, but this question just occured to me:
The rules of the sacred standard state it gives every unit a bonus of +1.
That means +2 all in all when you're in the same CC with 2 of your units and both in range, right?
And since standards work cumulative (as per FAQ) that would bring us the following picture:
Two celestian squads assault the same enemy unit, both with standards. Given the standard bearers survive they get +4 on their combat result? Jawsome.
If this is the case I have to reconsider some of my lists.
EDIT: sorry for hijacking this thread for my question, but I believe that would give some clearance on how useful the Sacred Standard is. To say something about the sacred banner: unmodifiable Ld 9 or 10 (when canoness with book around) are better than being fearless, cause you won't get extra-attacks in CC. Also it's way cheaper to have some books and you don't have to worry about staying in range of it.

Kill the mutant! Purge the unclean!
The only standard I use is the Sacred Standard when I use a large unit of celestians with canoness. Even then the purpose of this standard is not to improve their assault ability on the charge. It is to improve their assault ability when receiving a charge. I would never charge with a unit equipped with rapid fire weapons. Even celestians are rubbish at cc anyway. Instead I use a large unit of celestians, fully equipped with canoness, VSS with evisc and flamers all round as a sort of super-BSS. When they have finished shooting up their target with DG, if the remnants of the enemy unit charge them they are usually tough enough in assault to handle it. I have killed chaplains and chaos lords this way after they have charged me in a rage after their entire retinue was shot down.
The Sacred Banner of the Order Militant is a pretty redundant, even dangerous, bit of kit. With the BoSL the sisters don't really need it. Passing a morale check after getting thrashed means that you don't take a load of additional hits like you do with fearless. I also play orks and I've lost many boyz when a large and therefore fearless mob badly loses an assault on casualties.
