Rapid Fire Em
Sit there and have tea with Em
A bit of a dilema I have, seeing has i usually need to choose between rapid fire 10 armor, or charge into 10 armor.
Which one works best for you, and what is statistically better?
Rapid fire gets the advantage of not needing to roll a 6 if they have rolled more than 6", but might not allways hit rear if its not 10 all around, thus doing nothing.
Charging is where I am a bit less sure. On the charge, you get 3x more attack with bare Strength than grenades. But Grenades do something on 4/5/6 on 10 armor, while a punch only hits on a 6, and glances at best.
Which option would you choose and why? Thanks!
Against an armour 10 vehicle I would shoot it with my bolt pistols, then charge it (assuming we are using 10 man Tactical squads). This way you get 10 bolt pistol shots and 10 krak grenades.
If the vehicle stayed still, this method should give 1 glance from shooting, and about 2 other glances and 3 penetrates from CC. If it moved 6", it would be roughly be 1 glance and 2 pens from CC, and if it moved 12" you would be lucky to get one glance or pen.
I hope this helps,
I just shoot it with a melta round and move on. Meltaguns are assault weapons so if the melta shot doesn't work then you can assault it.
This is part of the reason why I give powerfists to my sergeants.

Salamander project log
If it's a bog-standard tactical marine, I'll rapid-fire at AV10 if out of charge range, or fire the Bolt Pistol and charge with Kraks if in charge range.
Whole different ball-game if it isn't, though.
Space Marines: W15/L7/D3
Imperial Guard: W6/L4/D0
As some have stated. All my Tacticals, that might ever get with in range of vehicles have a power fist.
As the basis of your question, If I have 10 marines, with a Sgt (bolt pistol chainsword), and 9 bolters, [Why do you not have a special weapon or the free heavy?], and they are within 12" before movement, I would move forward, fire pistols, then charge using the krak grenades.
The pistols have a chance to immobilize the vehicle, prior to charging, allowing alot more krak grenade hits.
Grenades are statistically your best bet.
May the Emperor forgive you, for his servants cannot.
For me, it depends where you are in relation to the target vehicle. If I was within Rapid Fire range but not within charge range, I'd rapid fire it. If I had a melta and was in melta range, I'd melta it. If I was within assault range, I would shoot it with bolt pistols/assault weapons and then if that didn't work, charge into combat and blow it up with grenades/power fists/relic blades.
