I am having trouble deciding which super heavy tank to build, I got the Imperial Guard Shadowsword/Stormlord tank set. I will most likely be vs. Space Marine as almost all of my friends collect them (sad).
I was thinking of building a Stormlord as it give me the ability to cut down Space Marine, but I don’t think I will be using the stormlord transport ability and it seem like a waste of point.
Can anyone give me some hint on which super heavy tank I should use to vs. Space Marines during an Apocalypse battle?
The best thing to do is add magnets so you can swap depending on what you need.
Although out of the two I suggest the Shadowsword since you don't plan to use the transport capacity. The Volcano Cannon is also more versatile since it works against Terminators, Land Raiders, and super heavies. Plus there's the command vehicle upgrade.
The bolter's effectiveness will be limited to infantry and to a certain extent, light vehicles. It does have an impressive amount of shots, but suffers from poor BS and when the Marines are in cover.

There are two sets of the superheavies which are perfectly interchangable with each other, and don't even need magnets. Stormlord/Banehammer/Doomhammer is one set, and the other three are the other (I can't remember most of their names, as I've gone with the first option). It's really only the position of the main block that makes a difference.
The main gun is kept in place with the U shaped piece of plastic that if it's anything like mine just clips in. Pop that out, swap gun mounts and you're done! In fact the main gun barrel fits together so snuggly that you can pop-and-switch the order to get the different variant.
The rear section that makes the firing platform larger is just a question of pushing the engine cover into place.
I'll post pics of the process tonight if I get the chance.
If you were stuck in defence take the stormlord with heaps of heavy weapon teams! They'd gun down those spacemarines REAL quick!
Take stormlord and add sponsons galore! Buy the extra bitz frame! Ya need the sponsons! especially for the lascannons!
