I wanted to ask here what is the optimum load out or your preferred load out for these dreadnoughts
I am going to get them painted and sell them on ebay, so I was hoping I could include the most useful weapons to players so that they would be desirable
so if you feel like helping a chap
Ultramarines venerable dread -- ( expected loadout is the powerclaw and assault cannon)
Dark Angels venerable Dread -- ( powerclaw/ assault drill with plasma cannon)
Black Templars venerable Dread ( powerclaw/ assault drill with plasma cannon)
Grey Knights mark 4 dread ( nemesis blade w/ psycannon)
Salamanders Venerable dread ( inferno cannons)
I figured plasma and powerclaws was a good bet; but basically what would you want on your dread?

Well it doesnt matter what chapter they are they can still all have the same weapons. But I think the assault cannon and powerclaw with heavy flamer on are the best and most common dreadnought.
*cough* powerclaw? Do you mean DCCW?
anyway, optimum loadout doesnt exist. You have anti-MEQ (Plasma Cannon/ML), anit-Horde(TL-HF/DCCW/HF), pure CC(Ironclad ) and anti-vehicle(TL-Las/ML). Just gotta make one that someone wants =)
I think multi melta and heavy flamer is the best configuration for a dreadnought. The inferno cannon isn't included in the codex so I don't think people will want it if they can play it.Salamanders Venerable dread ( inferno cannons)
thanks for the replies-- I dont really know any rules of 40k etc for I am just a painter along with my brother; so I wasnt sure what weapons would be most desirable.
is the assault drill usable in the game? I had no idea inferno cannon didnt have rules for it.
are the ultramarines the most played chapter?
I think it is its just classed as a normal dreadnought close combat weapon. Ultramarines are by far the most popular chapter, there the guys who are blue and gold.
Seems to me if you're buying the standard dread, they come with multiple weapons they slide right onto pegs. AS for the storm bolter/hvy flamer, just magnetize it and they can use either. You really want to sell it, make it as adaptable to the consumer as possible.
I can use assault cannon or multimelta on my dreads right arm (only guns i have for it) and DCCW with either storm bolter or heavy flamer. Other option for left arm is missile launcher which i can also just slide on.
I using the assault drill as a seismic hammer for my ironclad,
inferno as a twin-linked H-flamer for my normal dreadnought, may need a little converting
I plant on taking both plastic and resin dreads and fully magnetizing the arms -- then selling with an assortment, ill def post a link when I get one up
