Like the title. If you were to take them, what unit size is optimal?
The maximum, 20.
With 4 Fanatics with eviscerators, lead by an priest so you can re-roll your to hit attacks in the charge.
This way you save the pionts from an Demagogue, and take an other Evis. if you need it.
Flagellants... the elite choice.... not zealots
sorry, my bad
did read it wrong.
I would suguest 1 unit of 6, or 2 units of 3.
That`s how i use them

I say Take as many as you can(6) this way they can take down as many enemy units as possible before they get attacked back. Also this leaves you with a strong force if you roll an unlucky dice when using the injectors.
And this only counts as one elite choice.

The counter is that two units of 3 is more flexible. 6 can sometimes be drastic overkill. Also that way they can tie up more enemy units in assault. It also gives you two rolls for their run, which while it increases the risk of them blowing themselves up also makes it less likely they'll all trip over their own feet and not make combat. AF's are VERY powerful assault troops and even 2 or 3 of them can wipe out a unit of MEq's.
When I do run them... Err... I.e when I get a proxy for a priest... I run them in a squad of 6. Why?
Well... I'm up to a LOT of marines(as in DW), guard and orks... So I don't mind overkilling them since well... They won't die anyway or are to many to be wiped out... I know they got power weapons but well... I tend to roll a lot of 1s and 2s on the to wound rolls... (Lucky me) And a lot of 5s for some reason when determining how many attacks I get...
I wouldn't use 2 units of 3 cause that's bound to leave dying on their own when you use the injectors... 6 are more bodies for them to give up... And if I'm not wrong you need 2 priests...
My 2 cents.
Do they get d6+1 attacks on the charge?
Also what are zealeots i keep hearing everyone talk about them but i dont know what they are.
