are Landspeeders any good?
Are bikes better?
if so how do you run them?
Personally I play drop pod/DS'ing army, and thinking of dropping my termies for some LS's or bikes. Just curious what people think
Wash: This landing is gonna get pretty interesting.
Mal: Define "interesting".
Wash: [deadpan] Oh God, oh God, we're all going to die?
Personally I'd go for speeders with either MM's or Heavy Flamers (or both!). They can survive small arms fire so much better than bikes.
Landspeeder with multi-melta and heavy flamer is my favorite.
In a drop pod/deep strike army i think the land speeder is an even better choice compared to the bike.
I would say landspeeders are better than attack bikes but regular bikes with an attack bike are best (IMO).
Multiple wounds, long moves, can shoot and charge.
Also you don't need a full squad to take two special weapons. So you can take a multi-melta and 2 meltaguns and meltabomb. Plus you still have the TL bolters (w/ relentless)!
If you have a drop pod army landspeeders all the way, if not attack bikes. Landspeeders with double multi-meltas is just to good for tank busting and 2 heavy flamers for infantry is awesome aswell.
I wanna get 3 drop pods down first turn with locator beacons and then deep strike my landspeeders with multi meltas to try and get as many vehicles as possible.
Landspeeder with Multi-Melta and Assault Cannon is my favourite by far, it's an excellent combination of both anti-tank and anti-infantry that won't be rendered useless by a single Weapon Destroyed, plus its Fast move is really useful for getting both relatively short-range weapons into range.
If you're playing a Drop pod army I'd go for the Landspeeders since they can deepstrike also. Either MM or MM/HF are good. I'd use the MM Attack bikes if you are short on points or play more of a mech list.
