    My Marine/Raven guard Q's, List + a pic!

Okay so I've decided on the Raven Guard chapter.

I've purchased the codex, a unit of sniper scouts and I have Shrike on order. The next purchase will be another box of scouts, 1 of assault marines and a land speeder. I have a few questions though,

    Q. Can I give a 10 man tac squad a razorback?

    Q. If so, does that mean I have to split the squad so only half ride in the razorback?

    Q. If I split a 10 man squad into 2 5 man squads, do they count as a single kill point or a kill point each?

    Q. Can terminators be fleet? (due to Shrike's rule)

    Q. Would drop podding devastators be fluffy?

    Q. Can a chaplain be given lightning claws?

    Q. Can DSing vanguard veterans fleet before charging?

    Q. The techmarine can give a ruin + 1 cover save? Does this stack with the scouts camo cloaks?

    Q. How fluffy is a techmarine?

    Q. is there a particular way I have to split squads? For example, can I take a 10 man devastator squad, put 5 bolter guys in one and then 4 heavy weapons + sergeant in the other?

I was thinking that if they count as one kill point, I can use the 5 naked ones more recklessly than the heavy weapon ones.

Are any of the heavy vehicles fluffy in raven guard? I come from playing Chaos Daemons in 40k and LM in Fantasy, never had any vehicles/warmachines.

    Q. I've heard that the shoulder trim is green for tac/scouts red for assault, yellow for heavy and white for commander/elite.

Is this correct? I cannot find any real evidence and all the models in the codex have red.

Okay, Now that the questions are out of the way...

Here's a 40k in 40m list. Hopefully everyone knows the rules for these, I think they're brilliant

    Anyhoo,

    Assault Squad 130 points
    4 x marine
    1 x sergeant /w 2 Lightning claws

    Scout squad 100 points
    4 x scout
    1 x sergeant
    Missile launcher
    Camo cloaks

    Scout squad 100 points

    4 x scout
    1 x sergeant
    Missile launcher
    Camo cloaks

    Land Speeder 70 points
    Heavy bolter
    Multi Melta

    Total = 400 points

    Opinions please!

And last but not least, I'll post a link to my current WiP ravenguard scouts. Should be up in a bit, I've misplaced my digital camera and need to hunt it down.

    Cheers!

    Glavas out.

Yes, but obviously you'd need to Combat Squad (or have 4 men die) before you can gt in it.

    Yes

    One each.
    Q. Can terminators be fleet? (due to Shrike's rule)
Yes, everyone with Combat Tactics can (assuming they can run)
    Q. Can a chaplain be given lightning claws?
    Nope.
    Q. Can DSing vanguard veterans fleet before charging?
    Yes.
    Q. The techmarine can give a ruin + 1 cover save? Does this stack with the scouts camo cloaks?
    Yes.
    Q. How fluffy is a techmarine?
All chapters have them, else the machines wouldn't work
    Q. is there a particular way I have to split squads? For example, can I take a 10 man devastator squad, put 5 bolter guys in one and then 4 heavy weapons + sergeant in the other?
Yup, you can split them however you like.

Sadly for you, they're both 1 KP.
I've left the 'fluff' questions for the RG specialists

Pretty solid 400 point list, you should have enough anti-tank to cope - the only weakness is really the anti-horde, so I'd swap a ML in one of the scout squads to be a heavy bolter with hellfire shells.

Actually, no. there's nothing saying you HAVE to split the squad at all. In an annihilation game it might be prudent to not split the squad so as to cut down on the number of kill points on offer to your opponent. However not splitting the squad does (as realitycheque points out) mean that the squad wouldn't be able to embark into the Razorback until such time as they numbered 6 models or less.

When using a razorback with a 10 man squad it's best to think of it as a getaway car for when the squad are wounded, and as a detatched heavy weapon from the squad until that point.

I like this. Using a Razorback, whether you combat squad or not, is a great way to get another heavy weapon on the cheap if you don't plan on moving the unit.

I'm not a RG player, but it would seem counter to the fluff regarding them to take Devastators as they rely on lightning strikes and hit and run tactics. If you Drop pod a unit of Devastators, they'll spend at least one turn waiting to fire. Heavy vehicles are also used to a lesser degree. That's not to say you cannot use them at all though.

As far as the shoulder trim is concerned, I've read somewhere in the fluff that the RG change it up once in a while so opponents can't pick out specific units by their markings. Find whatever works for you.
