I've been reading through IA volume 2
It mentions on page 84 which is dedicated to the landraider of that there is a blueprint of a tank design used during the Great Crusade, the vehicle was heavier than the predator but lighter than the landraider
so what do you think that the tank might be, it could be an indication that FW is in the proces of making this new astartes tank so what are your comments or ideas on it
it could be the missing link that was hinted at in the index arstes predator article.

Wouldn't it mean that this... "Medium tank" would be based on a completely unique chassis? Because currently, there are only two basic tank designs: the weaker Rhino and the stronger Land Raider. So if it's something in the middle, it probably wouldn't be either of them. Or it might just be a Land Raider with a few less layers of armour. Who knows?

I think one time my old room mate told me about some new Space Marine super heavy tank, I think he called it a Ragnarok. I dont know I've not been able to find anything about this.
Tact is for people who give a damn. I'm not one of those people.
then he's wrong we are talking about an SM tank that lies between the Predator and the Landraider so it isn't a super heavy tank, besides SM don't have such vehicles with the exceptance of Thunderhawks
A Leman Russ maybe?Originally posted by Dreachon@Aug 18 2004, 134

no it is a tank design used by the SM legions during the Great Crusade
besides the book also mentions that certain design features of the landraider are more of redundant in the design or that are lessefficient
so the LR is out of the question
Doubt it, the Leman Russ is a full fledged battle tank which wouldn't really it i between the predator and Land raider, my guess is that it would be a more heavily armoured razorback with a front entrance and the option for sponsonsA Leman Russ maybe?

I came, I saw, I got a different type of Leman Russ.

Rules for grenades are on page 72 of the rulebook.
what do you think that the rules would be for this new tank
also if I were to hold a poll to see how many of use would like to see the new tank to be made by FW can you then try to let as many brother marines vote so I can send the results to FW
Well we are obviously talking about a heavy rhino chassis or a lighter raider chassis. If not it is as someone said a completely new chassis.
Either way it amounts to the same thing.
Depending on points cost i would certainly use it, as the land raider can be too points heavy for its effectivness and the regular tanks can be too suceptable to heavy fire. A medium might work very nicely with slightly thicker armour than a rhino, more weapons but with the same carrying capactity.
Ill be interested to see what they come up with.
