I am thinking of buying a land raider for my Sisters because i want some super heavy Armour that is near guaranteed to get a squad of sisters across the board and being able to unload from the front is a bonus. Also if it is really needed the sisters can assault can assault instead.. Its lascannons are really the only thing in the Sisters of battle arsenal that can kill other super heavy Armour from afar and is also great at killing medium infantry. Of course one of its faults is its incredibly high points cost. But in your experience is it worth the cost?
It would be great to get some feed back on this subject because it may effect my whole strategy
Battle sisters are not assault units - even when they have the option of assaulting out of a vehicle they are usually better served using rapid fire.
Well, it could be worth the points you spend on it, but, if I read the codex correctly, the only way to get one is as a transport for an Inquisitor Lord. Thus, you need to take 3 VPs to get the Land Raider, cannot take a second Canonness and the Sisters STILL can't start the game in the Land Raider.
Sounds like a bad plan!
With the change to what AP1 does, the Exorcist is not as effective as it used to be against AV13 and especially AV14. It takes two sixes in a row to kill AV14 with an Exorcist! I have been relying much more on inferno pistol seraphim and eviscerators for AT duty in 5E. Exorcsit is better off firing at heavy infantry and MCs if no light-medium armor is visible.
Lack of anti tank is never really that big of a problem with sisters of battle so I just don't really see how 258 points for 2 twin linked lascannons would help out the army.
Exorcists are great for taking out transports and are pretty good at taking out any AV 11-13 vehicles plus they're good at killing MCs, terminators, wraithguard, plague marines,crisis suits,etc. and we have inferno pistols, melta guns, and eviscerators for the odd AV14 vehicle.
This whole discussion makes me wonder how Mech'd sisters vs Water Warrior Grey Knights would go down...
Don't bother with WH Land Raiders. It's got a very serious restriction. Basically, it can only be used as a transport for the unit it was bought for. Thus, only the Inq and his retinue (and any IC's attached) may be transported. Technically, a sister squad can never ride in it.
Also, it's Power of the Machine Spirit is very weak compared to Daemonhunters or Space Marines. It's just not worth it for the cost.
Damn so i going to have to get real close to take out super heavy Armour.
