Hey all, so i'm having some issues modelling my veterans at the moment (trying to use marine breast plates to represent carapace but can't get the lasgun holding arms over the breast plate SO i've decided to use things that are 1 handed.
From a personal point of view and from what you've seen at tournaments would i have any problem saying that a pair of laspistols (i might even convert them to autopistols) 'count as' a shotgun?
More to the point where could i get the bits? are there even any left handed cadian las pistol arms?
thanks for the help.
i think duel pistols count as twin linked pistols. so 2 hell pistols count as twin twin linked hell pistols. to find the bitz i would try ebay first. i did find some auto pistols here. http://www.theassaultgroup.co.uk/sto...ction=0&page=3
I am an Indestructible master of War.
Rules for counts as:
1) Must reasonably represent what is being replaced from the basic model
2) cannot be used to represent anything else on different models, or have two different thing representing the same equipment
I think you may be a bit over the line buy duel wielding laspistols to represent a shotgun. I think it would however be pretty slick to get some styrene or brass tubes from your local hobby store, make two 1/2 to 3/4 inch sections and replace a laspistol chamber for a double-barrel pistol grip shotgun!

i agree, making a pistol grip double barrled shotgun would be an easy way to get round the arms not fitting on..
in the case of duel pistols counting as a shotgun i personally wouldnt count it. depends who your playin against
do you have to use SM breastplates for carapace???
You could, If you could be bothered, model the guy weilding two single shot sawn off shotguns as pistols. Then it's both Wysiwyg and cool.
Personally though i really like the idea and wouldn't mind in the slightest. But at tournaments you do have to go by the letter. Ask the tournament organisers though and see what they say.
Thanks for the advice guys. I don't HAVE to use the SM breast plates i guess but i just think it looks good and i have very few other options (i'm useless with greenstuff).
I do like the double barrel shotgun pistol ideas though, will definatly look into that, thanks for the idea.
Not entierly sure how to do it though, will give it a go, any other ideas/comments are very welcome.
Rep for all.
I would not accept duel pistols as a 'counts as' shotgun. I might accept dual pistols though.
But be aware of what pistols you use, two laspistols would probably have to count as a lasgun, so either use two sawn off shotguns or two autopistols for example.
I'd let it slide personally. I am very lenient on "counts as" but in all honesty 2 things with the stats of half a shotgun (and the same range) counting as a shotgun doesn't sound too bad.
Plus any excuse for manly poses should always be welcome.

I agree with beardy. Plus it would look cool, even cooler than a shotgun. So there.

If you take the time to lovingly convert your models then i don't see why anyone could complain...you could just say that the pistols are modified to hold larger slug rounds.
Just fit a small piece of plastic to the side of the gun to act as a "Chamber" for the larger rounds.
