I've been toying with the idea of using a powerfist on my Chaplain over melta bombs for an upcoming tournament next week. I run him with a jump pack in a full assault squad and the sergeant has a thunderhammer. However, I'm beginning to question if this is a good idea seeing as I'd lose the extra attack and the squad sergeant has the thunderhammer anyway. Does anyone else use a powerfist on their Chaplain, or is this just a bad idea?
I would avoid arming the chaplain with a power fist for all the reasons you state above:
Lose an attack
redundant S8 weapon
PLUS the chaplain is striking last so can be targeted before he can attack
On the other hand...I LOVE being able to do six S8 attacks on the charge SO MUCH more than 3!!!
Once a Marine, always a Marine.
That is more or less what I was thinking. Thank you.
