I was thinking of getting a Plasma cannon for the dreadnought and placing it on a Chaplain Dread in the place of of the GW venerable (I just really dont like that model, and the Chaplain on is so cool). Anyone have any experience with plasma on a dread? I was planning on running it in a MOTF army with 5 other Dreads.
I don't think you can go wrong with one. I use plasma Dreadnoughts often, especially in 1000 point lists. Having a mobile plasma blast weapon is terrific, especially against 2+ saves and hordies alike.

Plasma Cannon on a Dread is pretty damn sweet. it doesnt get hot and can bonus from the extra BS of a chaplain or venerable dread. Its also very cheap compared to that of a Devastator and doesnt die quite as easily.
Its an all-round winner in my oppinion.
It's hard to go wrong with plasma cannons I have a squad of devvies with 4 of the babies never fails to wrack up a body count against anything shoort of armoured company .
