Ok, what is the deal with "TSKNF"? I play against Marines all the time... This rule is ridiculous. I played against a Marine player this weekend that used Calgar and his rule that allows any space marine unit to decide whether to pass or fail their tests... Seriously? Does anyone else think these rules are totally ridiculous. Also, why would someone want to fail their test?
I fail it on purpose all the time. If im tied up with a dread vs marines, or a horde of orks. I run away, then shoot them up. My favorite part is you can run away, then auto rally, and turn and shoot heavy weapons, or turn and move and then assault.
It's the Marine's primary strength, and while very annoying it isn't that bad once you get the hang of it. For example, they still can't regroup while falling back if there's an enemy within 6", and in CC you still get the chance to chase them down--with extra wounds dealt if you catch them. Remember also that they must require a leadership test before the ability kicks in--if your unit meltaguns two Marines out of 10 right before a charge then he still can't choose to fall back.
And Calgar is expensive. At least your opponent is paying for the extra ability.

Is that a calgar rule? Why would have to make a leadership test to choose to fall back? I must have missed that part. I guess i can kinda see that, so the whole squad knows what orders are happening.
So you do need to leadership test to see if you can fail back??
Yes you need to have one although you do not roll dice you instead choose to pass or fail at your own discression.
Ask me about the Black and White Space Marine on the Black and White Bike!!!
Reamber tho. If you have a model that removes combat tatics for chapter tatic you can not chose to fall back, even if you have Marn also....I've seen some run Vulken and Marn thinking that Marns rule still was past on because it's not a chapter tatic.
