Your thoughts on this little poser.
Just modelling my Scout bikers and want to give the Serg one of the three available Launchers. With his higher BS its better used on him. However teh codex isn't clear as to who exactly can have them. It clearly states the kit that is specific to him only but then it says that three bikers may have a launcher. He is a biker too......
Am I stretching a point or can he have it?

I suppose on friendly games it wouldn't matter, but if you're going for a strict interpretation of the rules i'd say he can't.
In any event i always felt the grenade launchers was of better used on regular scout bikes: Given that you get 1/3 chance of bullseye on the scatter dice, it helps to compensate for the low ballistic skill. However if you're going the strength 6 alt fire, i suppose the sergeant would be a better choice... You could always add a Plasma pistol instead, i little less range but a more bang for your buck (If you're lucky with "Gets hot" . I tend not to be, so i stay away form that ).

I don't belive he can have it, but I need to check the codex when I get home. I believe the launchers are a sqaud upgrade. Squad upgrades don't apply to seargent upgrades. Does it say up to 3 members of the squad may be upgraded with grenade launchers? (or something along those lines?) The seargent is seperate upgrade with his own options.
3 bikers can he can not, if he was allowed it would state any model in the unit can, but it says bikers (what is the standard bike) not biker sergeant.
Three Bikers can, but the Sergeant isn't a Biker so according to RaW he can't.
The AGLs are Rapid Fire weapons though, and double-tapping does help alleviate the fail of BS3 somewhat. Especially if you're double-tapping Frag Blasts, that's pretty cool
Thats what I thougt really but one can only hope.
