hi im starting up a sob's list and was wondering what you give a Sister Superior in a Sisters Squad im planing on a takeing one flamer and one meltagun so what do i give the Superior power weapon? Eviscerator? Combi-flamer?
Eviscerator + book and a bolt pistol.
So your unit will have some CC power and alway`s have LD 9.
Agreed with as posted above, however I would advocate that you should specialise the squad, wither going with 2 flamers for anti-infantry or 2 meltas for anti-tank or heavy infantry. I find this works far better than having a squad that is mediocre at both...
Depends on the point size however, in smaller points it's not always possible to specialise to a large extent.
Hope this helps.
Inquistion force WIP. Pics on posts 17 and 23.
Depends what unit they're with for me:
Superior w/ Bolt Pistol, Brazier of Holy Fire, Book of St. Lucius
Superior w/ Bolt Pistol, Evicerator, Book of St. Lucuis
Superior w/ Power weapon, Bolt Pistol
Suprior w/ Evicerator, Bolt Pistol
Superior w/ Storm Bolter
I havn't included just plain basic superiors up there and sometime I don't even use the books since there may be a cannoness nearby with one.I used to follow this philosopy as I moved from Eldar to Witch Hunters but I have found that a single meltagun here and there will prove invaluable, even as a threat or just as a final precaution should all else fail. A set-up as follows keeps the squad quite effective at killing infantry as well as have anti-tank protection:Originally Posted by Cripsin

Rhino TransportYou'll find the Exorcists will handle a good deal of your anti-tank needs in a typical game against a balanced list. But against something with more vehicles or tougher gribblies you'll find an light spread of high strength low ap weapons across the army will be invaluable. Me a few years ago would have recommended you:Originally Posted by GAX70

4x 10 sisters w/ flamer, heavy flamer, rhino, and Superior w/ book of st lucius
2x 8 Seraphim w/ 2 Flamer pistols and Superior w/ Evicerator
3 x Exorcists
However now I would consider the set-up I mentioned above as well as mixing some other units into this, some would argue that this would make the list less competetive and it is true to a degree but I find it more enjoyable with more different things to play with (strictly my opinion).
I like my Vet Superiors providing a third flamer template.
Usually a Book of St Lucius + Combi-Flamer or Book + Brazier of Fire.
And over there we have the labyrinth guards.
One always lies, one always tells the truth, and one stabs people who ask tricky questions.
Book and Bolter. Anything else is a complete and utter waste since all she does is sit in a Rhino, and every point you fritter away on wargear is a point you can't put towards MOAR IMMOLATORS!!!
The number of times I have said "Man I wish I had two swings with a WS3 weapon that goes at I1, that would really turn this game around" is far, far outweighed by the number of times I have said "Man I wish I had another 100 pts to play with in this army list."
I also don't want to be second guessing myself when it comes to that point in the game where I need a few "volunteers" for martyrdom from squads away from the hottest action It's always nice to shake your opponent's headspace by making them regret a decision. Seeing your faith pool go up because they decided to take a couple pot shots at some squad who's irrelevant to the battle is a good way to get there.
Whenever I take battle sister squads with 2 melta guns I like to throw on a braizer of holy fire on the superior just to make the squad a bit more flexible, but ALWAYS take a book of st, lucius, its good good and cheap to give up.
99% of the time I just take a Book and bolter, and I throw in an eviscerator with the seraphim superior.
