Chaos Space Marines
There's has been a lot of "Armies you hate to play against" poles around, pretty much on every army section. I'am personally curious what armies people LIKE to play against. Not so much the armies you stomp but which armies give you an enjoyable game? Maybe it's me but I personally enjoy those close hard fought victories than just nuking my opponents in mid-field.
So list what armies give you a great game and maybe what army type you play (Mech, Gunline etc.) because IG has a lot of variety. :]
The club I play at atleast 75% of the players there play Marines, so I play a mobile veterans list. I load up on demo charges, plasma, and melta-guns. Everything starts off the game in a transport, and I like to take out any anti-tank first, after that I control the board very well, and it is just a matter of time. Demo charges are just fun as hell to use when they work properly haha, I have only every blown up my own Chimera once!
I usualy play with a long gunline with two lines approximately 4" apart which advaces/holds accordngly, adopting the close order drill doctrine.
I really enjoy playing against marines as it is an enjoyable experience that I engage into more that wild alien species, it reminds me of the US Marines facing the Israili army as we oftern engage in cross street firefights with IFV supporting and realistid battles with 'living' objectives. e.g. a Valkyrie gets shot down somewhere in the city, it becomes an objective on the ground I would have to secure and retrieve the crew and extract them off the map. This sort of thing really appeals to me in 40k (yes Black Hawk Down is my favourite film ever).
Any types of Marines. I once played a Blood Angel army 1500 vs 1500. I wiped out every model he had and I did not lose a single model.
Apparently everyone loves Marines......because they crush them. ><
I just love to play against Ork armies, simply because you just don't know what your opponent is going to have, and then how he will use it. Maybe because I am also an Ork player too, but I once fought a demo battle with a kid who was just starting with Eldar. He had a great battle plan, but he wasn't expecting my warbuggies to roar up the middle. He promptly blasted them, and then watched in amasement as my trukks disgorged 40+ boys into his flank, which consisted of a falcon grav tank. The boys ignored it completely, and assaulted his lines, tearing through Eldar with ease. Thats why I both love playing and playing against Orks. Its the sheer Orkiness and randomness.
I also love to play against themed armies. And to exploit their weaknesses with an all comers list. Hahahaha.
