Hey, I'm writing up my list for my Dark Angels, however ive lost the Dark Angels codex so im just using the Space Marines codex for now.
Im upgrading my Command Squad and was wondering which one to choose from. I dont have many Anti-Tank squads (apart from a plasma cannon 2 rocket launchers and a heavy bolter) in my devastator squad.
You sure you got the 5th edition marine codex cause only way to get a vet skill in the new book is with sacarius or however you spell his name. Also a plasma cannon is not really anti-tank and a heavy bolter really is not anti-tank.
- You must set fire to water or you will be extinguished.
Nope, soon after posting found out im holding 4th ed. I know plasma cannon and heavy bolter arent anti-tank, I posted them anyway.
In a general sense, even having a single unit with 'Tank-Hunters' will not be enough Anti-Tank for your force. There are alot of options for anti-tank.
Drop Pod with a Dreadnought M.Melta
Predator with Lascannons
Attack Bike with Multi-Melta
Land Speeders with M.Melta and/or Typhoon Missle Launcher
Scouts with Melta Bombs.
Even an Assault squad with a P.Fist Sgt. can pop tanks.
these are just a few.
How is your command squad equipped?
And will you be playing 4th edition rules if you are making use of the 4th edition codex? Because the rules for tank hunters have changed quite drastically, and unless you get it as a free little extra I wouldn't necessarily go for that veteran skill (in 5th edition).
Make an assaulty command squad with furious charge instead. That skill gets you what it promises.
WEll my command squad has 2 power fist in it I believe. Along with a mace type thing or 2. Oh and a Chainsword thats about it. Ive got a Assault Terminator Squad with 2 thunder hammers and 3 lightning claws, could they bring a tank down?
You'll have a hard time on land raiders and thelike though, as Grey2321 already pointed out too.
