Who here would buy gunnery Sargeant Harker. I mean, he has good skills, but only one wound. For sixty points, only 35 less than Straken, is it worth it?
i wouldnt say so
he dies too easily
Deltamarines (SM) W:10 D:1 L:3
Hunter Cadre Xeon'a (Tau) W:5 D:2 L:1
But he looks damned cool.
Of course. He isn't an IC, has stealth, can infiltrate, has a HOOOGE gun that he can cap at people at will. Plus you can fit a stupid amount of firepower in that one unit.
He only cost 25pts because his abilities that he gives the others is like upgrading the vets. With 3 grenade lauchers and Harker you can move and fire alot of medium strength shots.
i would take him, he gives the unit stealth, which costs 30 points for a veteran squad, he has a heavy bolter which costs 10 and he has infiltrate which you cant get normally on squads of veterans, lets say thats worth 10 points, so then your only really out by 15 points and if you consider the benefit of sitting a squad with harker and 3 plasma and an autocannon on an objective you can basically deal with anything, that unit is going to be a royal pain in the butt.
No, I wouldn't. It's not that Harker is a bad model, ruleswise; it's that I have better uses for my veteran squads than shooting at weak infantry and I don't want to try sneaking up on horde opponents. In addition, I have mobile heavy bolters strapped onto my Chimerae, Leman Russes, Hellhounds and artillery. I don't need another one.

I've been using outflanking Harker with demo veterans and 3 flamers and I must say that this combination worked for me. That squad alone won me a game or two (only becuase my oponnent made a mistake of deploying most of his squish DE warriors near table edge. Twice. In a row) so I would say "I'll take him" - for fun, that is. On any other occasion: leave him at home.

He costs 65 points in my Codex, not 25.
What CKO is saying is that the abilities he gives the squad are included in his cost. For the price that he is, if you take off the cst of those abilities then he appears a lot cheaper.
