I was looking though the codex and in my 1000 point army I run 2x Tac squads in Rhino's. I was acutally thinking I need a 3rd unit for 1500 point but I don't want to spend a ton. I was curious what people thought about a 10 man scout squad in the skimmer transport. It's only 190 points for a full squad. I was thinking of loading them with shotguns to pop 2x str 4 shots at assault range. Can you go 24, drop a squad, then assault? I am still a little fuzzy on thoes rules. Anyways what do you all think of that or should I just spend the 70 more for a Tac squad in a rhino.
it can only be don if you have two slots of your fast attack free for two landspeeders storm and the combat squad them
but you can also give 5scout snipers and the others shotguns and a speeder storm
so i hope you do one of the two
Translation: The Landspeeder Storm can only carry five Scout Marines.
Don't think about the Storm as a budget Land Raider; think about it as a "does nothing for four turns, then takes an objective" unit. You could also use the unit as a reinforcement squad but the sad truth is that five Scouts aren't likely to swing the outcome of most close combats. A much better use for Scouts is holding your home objective while the rest of your army goes on the offensive.

Thank you all for the help. I SUCK at space marines. The only thing I can do is suck and die :-P I hope to improve that to just either suck or die, not both.
