I have been looking though army lists. What do people think of squads of 3x Attack bikes with Multimelta's. Do you think they are worth the 150 points? I could see myself fielding 2x sqauds of them. Anyone else use just the bikes or do you always have them with a squad?
I would certainly pay 150 for those. Most HS tanks are in that range or higher, and 3 MMs with BS4 are almost sure to wreck it. They have great speed, multiple wounds, and a good save/toughness.
Against an all infantry army they'd be not so hot but it's still a safe bet. In an all Bike army I'd go with just Bike Squads w/ Meltas and 1 attached Attack Bike with MM, makes more sense.

I just use 1-3 MM attack bikes and have one fill each fast attack slot. I don't think I've ever used them as a squad.

Salamander project log
Highly recommended from this Marine player. I have 6 all with Multi-Melta's! I had to get them as I play against IG so definitely good against armour! The Heavy Bolter option looks nice but the army as a whole is just naturally good against hordish armies.
yes attack bikes are good.definitely with a multi-melta.
just want to point out a suggestion for them (as having some bias towards dark angels)
Ravening attack bikes -
they are purchased as part of a fast attack choice or troop choice along with a ravenwing attack squadron (3-6 bikes, 1 attack bike, and landspeeder). when deployed they act as completely seperate units from the bikes and landspeeder. this is great if you need your fast attack slots filled with something else, assault squads i guess. but your attack bikes also count as scoring, and you can have one per troop or fast attack slot. (fast attack attack bikes obviously are not scoring).
the advantage with the space marine codex is to have more than one attack bike in a single unit. but you must use another force org. slot to do so.
also... ravenwing attack bikes have Scout! and Fearless! and teleport homer.
In my 1750 White Scars army, I run 7 MM Attack Bikes and 6 HB Attack Bikes.
I have 2x 3 man MM squads, 1x 3 man HB squads and the rest are part of normal bike squads.
Attack bikes are great value for their points. Tough, fast and multi wounds. They can get to the side or rear armour of vehicles easy enough. Or if you run Korsarro Khan like I do, hold them off for outflank.
Space Wolves (Under Construction) | Circle of Orboros (Under Construction)
Awesome. I am going to pick 6 of them up for my 1500 point army. I wanted fast as I am salamanders anyways! There goes 150 bucks.
Vulkan is my main char in the army. He tags along with a group of Thunder hammer/Lightning clawed guys. Usally in a land raider with a Multi-melta. The only thing I am worried about is the simple fact of kill points. 3x single squads of attack bikes = 3x easy points for the enemy which is hard if not almost impossable to make up. In kill point missions I find Infantry only armies win out.
