anyone know why Canis Wolfborn has a latin first name???
I always thought Wolves stuck with Norse names.
Fenris is a big planet, some people like to give their kids more unusual names.

Found this website with some wolf names from different cultures... WOLF NAMES from Chinaroad Lowchens of Australia - You can see how some of these names work. You have variations on Ulric, some english, some german. Canis is just another wolf/dog like word. Much of the worlds languages have words or roots mixed in.

As a friend of mine puts it, his name is Wolfy Wolfborn, coz thats basically what it translates to.
You'll find this is done a hell of a lot in 40k, especially with the 1st founding and the Primarchs. Using a name that basically means exactly what the person/group is; eg Ferrus Manus of the Iron Hands, his name means Iron Hands
