My friend and I are new two warhammer 40k we got the black reach set he's the orks and I'm the space marines. We have read the rules and have played at least a dozoen games now and I haven't won one game. If you have any tips or ideals on how I can win please post.
it is hard to say, without seeing you play at least.
Usually in BR games you should focus on the orky horde with your marines before they get a change to get you into CC.
Saying that ignore the deff coptas until later in the game since everything has BS 2 you should avoid most shots and save the ones you don't.
Basically Bolters are your friend, not your CC skill
Wash: This landing is gonna get pretty interesting.
Mal: Define "interesting".
Wash: [deadpan] Oh God, oh God, we're all going to die?
wat tactics are you using? we kinda need more information.
I mostly just stand there and shoot at him, the best weapon I have to kill alot of he's orks is my flamer but I don't even get to use it that much cause by the time he's close enough for me to use it we go in assult fase
What forces are you using?
You can't be just using only the ones in Black Reach right? There's only one troop choice in there for marines. That can't be made into two five men teams either because of the heavy weapon. Also the points costs of the orks and marines aren't the same i think.
If you are here's an idea - make that commander a chapter master and use the orbital strike for a large blast - might help. decided on a chapter yet too?
If you split the cost for Black Reach then give him the Orks and you take the Marines. Buy the codexs for each race and buy some models, build up a small army instead of a unit of Marines and then you should have a little diversity in tactics at least.
I love Smashing Pumpkins, Pearl Jam, and Guns 'N Roses.
I love to play my guitar.
I've only ever won a single 40k game.
Hint: the Dreadnought is impossible to kill.

There are 2 things the orks have that can kill the dreadnought; the koptas and the warboss. Kill the koptas first then charge the captain into the orks. With some luck he should kill the warboss, without any he'll still wound him. Then charge the dread in, it should be able to kill or finish off the warboss, just have it sit in combat slowly killing one boy/nob squad and then the rest of your army concentrate on the other orks.

But the Dread is S10 and hits before the Warboss and can pick him out of a mob of 20 boyz. Just fire kraks at the copters and you win.
If you call it a Missile launcher, then it'll never hit anything.
