Personally, i think they're pretty cool. They're a First Founding whcih means there's lots of room for themes or fluff. The white armour is really distintive, especially with the red dog-tooth and they have a good bit of character about them without being over-board. They are famous for mobility so all the cool stuff like speeders, drop-pods, Storms and razorbacks comes in to play.

They have a special character too, who's meant to be pretty cool but oddly enough only comes as a model on foot.
No more NG spearmen, thanks! Now I need some pump-wagons!

TPM is right. the WS are a real mobile and agile chapter. consisting massive amounts of bikes and assult vehicles.
their fluff is nice and simple, without being too glorified(unlike the smurfs.)
and i imagine their paint scheme is also quite easy. just white with red fangs.
FOR THE GREAT SANGUINIUS AND THE EMPEROR....red and black all the way.

I was just wondering if they were considered competitive as I've never seen anyone with a white scars army where I live. I like their fluff, their color scheme and the look of the army is like a space marine biker gang.

They use the SM codex so if you consider the SM codex competitive then you're fine. Apparently marines are kinda popular so you should be ok.

You can but the model will just stand there looking at it.

White Scars are a great army. All Bikes is an under-played way to do Marines and I feel their strongest composition. The Scars character is actually kind of ho hum, he's good if you run some Bikes and some transports but for all Bikes he's a huge points waste.

If you run all Bikes White Scars is basically a paint job. If you run the character your better off with some transports to abuse his special rule and some Bikes to keep the army flavor.

im not sure but I think he has to be on a bike either that or if I remember he gives his bike squad some sort of benefit I think.

The character can be given a bike that let's him run, which is kind of useless. It's mostly about his special rule to let you Outflank. Personally I'd put him in a transport and save points on the bike.
