I'm looking at starting a Death Korps of Krieg army, and I have a question about what information/books I will need to use them?
Do I need all (3) of these books to use this army :
IMPERIAL ARMOUR VOLUME SIX - THE SIEGE OF VRAKS PART TWO
IMPERIAL ARMOUR VOLUME FIVE - THE SIEGE OF VRAKS PART ONE
IMPERIAL GUARD CODEX
And any other Army Collecting tips that could be helpful.
You could just use them as a "from the codex" army, you won't quite have all the options available to you from the Vraks books, but you will have more, different options. However, you can always pick and choose and limit yourself within the DKoK theme.
What sort of units are you looking at getting?

I'd just use the IG Codex. It's going to be a pain in the ass to whip out 3 books to play your army, 2 of which your opponent probably has never seen.
For a fun game maybe use the FW stuff but for regular games, stick to Codex IG.

i asked the very same question to myself a couple weeks ago, and ending up ordering all 3 vraks books, the DKoK list is soooo out of date i really wish forge world would provide a update to the list. you are really just better off using the IG codex, because the point values in the DKoK list are not on par anymore.
i was very disappointed when i recieved them because i had hoped IA 7 would have an update to the list, but instead you get a DKoK armoured company list that has updated rules to the new codex, (like troops can get orders and stuff) so its confusing as to whether these updates apply to the seige company list as well.
so in my opinon unless you really like the fluff and pretty pictures, dont bother with these books, i'm already having trouble finding people to play because everyones afraid of trying to play a new army, (ahhh no something different get it away from me) so lame
Ultimately, the thing that defines Death Korps is their siege oriented fighting style and heavy use of artillery. It's quite easy to make this kind of army with just the IG codex.

Thanks for the responses guys. It all really helped a lot. Now I just need to earn the money to order these expensive bastards
