Can anyone tell me exactly what parts come in the plastic Space Marine Commander box? The blurb on the GW site simply says something like "9 different weapon options, 3 heads, and additional parts". I'm wanting to build a Jump Pack Captain wielding a Relic Blade (please no comments about this being a bad idea if you feel that way!) and want to know if I will be able to build this variation from the box. If not, i'm considering using the Vanguard Vet model with RBlade, though would prefer to have all the bits that come over the Commander box.
No the box does not come with a Jump Pack or a bike. Just the stuff for a standing HQ
The Commander is an old-ish kit so there's no Relic Blade in there, no Jump Pack either. There are a crap-load of weapon options, but none of them would make a very convincing Relic Blade.
The Vanguard Sarge is probably your best bet if you don't want to convert, but I'd pick up the Commander kit anyway just because it has tons of useful bits in it.
Frank Fugger is right, the commander box is a kit that keeps on giving, and in this hobby it's always useful to have more bitz around than you think you'll need.
If you want something cool with a minor amount of conversion I'd recommend these to make a pretty cool Captain:
Marine Commander Box
White Scars Commander
Raptor with Meltagun
Attach the commander legs and a left arm of your choice to the Scars Commander body, and give him the Raptor's jump pack. You could actually use any set of legs and any jump pack for these, I'm just pimping the commander box because of it's variety and I really like the raptor style packs.

Cheers folks, some good chat. That Bitz Box site looks like it could be really useful, might have found some suitable swords there.
Black Templars Champion model is a possibility too I guess. Wish that and the Vanguards were plastic..!
