For this weeks topic i thought id do a bit of wargear the Simulacrum Imperialis
a Imagifer (Simulacrum Imperialis) will give you a much better chance to pass your faith tests but at a cost close to a Eviscerator..... there is not much to say about this in the first post so what do you thing about Imagifer's do you like them in your troops or do you fill they cost to much for what they do? i for one do not know how to fill about them if i have the points ill add them but most of the time i dont.
I bet you mean "feel", not "fill".
I don't know if I would use them in a competitive list. They could help with some tactics ... like using He'stan in a SM army with WH allies, relying on possible AP1 flamers. But overall the Acts of Faith are "nice to have" for me, but not as great that I would build a whole army around it. So usually I know better stuff to put my points into.
The unit that benefits most from having one - the seraphim - get theirs for free with the vet.
Once battle sister squads are small enough to need one for divine guidance they probably arn't generating enough hits for it to be worth using.
An argument could be made for dominions with four flamers, but it is padding their price out somewhat.
Or for small Melta Dominion Squads for those times you absolutely must kill that tank on the first volley.
And over there we have the labyrinth guards.
One always lies, one always tells the truth, and one stabs people who ask tricky questions.
Maybe someone thinks they actually GET rending...? Remember that divine guidance only gives you ap1 wounds, and does not give you the extra D3 for penetrating as the rending rule gives you.
For fun games I will take Retributors with four heavy bolters and stick them in a Immolator and have it drive out drop them out and then have the Immolator just start causing Havoc. Each time I do this how ever I wish that i took a imagifer with my retrobuter squad..
I did take them several time in my Ret squads, but overall, points can be spent better elsewhere I suppose. They fit in the same category as SM standards - cool idea and perhaps fluffy, but only worth taking if you have no other models handy and everything has to be exactly WYSIWYG in your army.
