Wanting to add a Rune Priest, to my Space Wolves force, I would like him to be pretty well-rounded.
The veteran players I go against, have quite a number of different forces, so I never know what I'll be up against.
So, what are your opinions one making such a Rune Priest? Not just in 'powers' but I need guidance in gearing him too.
Thank you in advance.
I like RP with the MoR upgrade, with JotWW and Living Lightning.
JotWW is overrated, but it's a solid power that can knock a big nasty off the board without a troop commitment, and Living Lighting is an unlimited range assault d6 autocannon essentially, and I don't know anyone who doesn't want that.
Don't bother having anything more than meaningless small talk on this forum, the moderators won't allow it
Rattrap is spot on about the Rune Priests' powers.
As for being an allrounder they can be alright.
They already come with a Runic Weapon and a Bolt Pistol, meaning it shooty isnt great, but thats pretty much a moot point, as the best powers a rune Priest can muster are done instead of shooting. And the Runic Weapon is fielded as a power weapon as well as its inate psychic ability that enables you to instant kill something, pending psychic tests.
Just chuck him in Runic Armour or TDA to make him that wee bit tougher on the field.
Or on a bike or with a jump pack to have him moving rapidly across the field to wreak havoc with the psychic powers.
Go hard, just gear towards your preferred play style.
Hope this helps.
Space Wolves: Great Company of Berek Starkiller, 3700 pts.
Imperial Guard: XII Cytherian Regiment: 1400 pts.
15 years experience, numerous other models not fielded.
If you have the spare points dont forget Njal. He is probably the most well rounded rune priest since he knows all the powers but he is costly on points.
