i have been thinking it over and if you give a wolf lord a frost blade, plasma pistol, runic armor, thunderwolf mount, wolftooth necklace, 2fenrisian wolves and saga of the wolfkin and he is a beast.
on the charge he will get 7 stength 6 attacks always hitting on 3's at initiative 5 (not even to mention fleet and 12" assault range) and he will have 6 more attacks also at initiative 5 and strength 4 from his 2 fenrisian wolves (WS 4)
i plan on running him with 5 thunder wolf cavalry but he is pretty dang powerful by himself
correct me if i was at all wrong or just make some comments or just type some nonsense. anyway thanx.

if you're gonna kit him out to the max, then you'll also get a lot out of saga of the warrior born. you could be getting even more attacks on the 2nd turn of combat, and then more again on the 3rd, assuming the enemy unit even lasts that long (and if it does, chances are it was a massive unit, and you just took out a fair chunk)
if those 7 attacks in round 1 killed lets say 4 enemies, you'll get 10 attacks round 2. lets say those 10 attacks kill 6, you'll have 12 attacks turn 3. and so on
if you gave saga of the wolfkin to another model, the benefit applies to all of the fenrisian wolves in the army, even your wolf lord's. that way he gets everything
i'm assuming you already know that kitting out an hq like this should really be only for very high point games
you have a good point i made this character before i found out canis has saga of the wolfkin (im stupid sometimes) and i had planned on running them bothin a 2000 point list but now that i see your point about saga of the warrior born ill have to change it
thanx for your input

I don't see why he needs his own Wolves, just stick him in a Wolf unit, either Thunderwolf or Fenrisian. He could even run behind armor depending on your build.
Does seem pretty kitted out but Plasma Pistols aren't so hot. Everything else is highly useful. Can he have a Storm Shield? That'd be a better idea.
While Frost blades are cool, kit him out with a chainfist/thunderhammer + stormshield and he can even threaten land raiders, monoliths and c'tans. I5 is great, but with T5 he can afford to strike last while still insta-killing warbosses.
The Storm Shield would be Expensive and take away one of his attacks. He already can have a 4++ save.
Army's used: Space Wolves, Tomb Kings, High Elves, Tyranids, Tau and Eldar.
I'd still pay for it. It'll make a big difference if he takes rapid fire plasma, demolisher shells or a ton of power weapon attacks. How many attacks does he have with a Shield, like 4? That's plenty.
If he takes wolves he's no longer an IC, I'd avoid that.
I still prefer a Captain with relic blade and storm shield. Cheap and killy.

Well killing a few Wolves isn't exactly hard. Don't they just act as a retinue though, so when they die he's an IC again? If so Wolves are crap, 1 KP for a pair of wolves? Pass.
