I wish to use the dreadnoughts, from the AoBR box, and wondered if I need extra parts to show the smoke launchers/serachlight?
Thanks in advance.
Not really, it's standard wargear. Only the most anally retentive players will be picky about it.
I ripped off the searchlight on my Dreadnought years ago, but I left the smoke launcher on because I felt it looked good. That's just me, however. Most opponents you'd want to play probably won't care.

Agreed, I wouldn't worry about them. Any opponent who makes a big deal about it would not be someone that you'd want to play against anyway.
I got 2 AOBR dreads, I stuck on smoke launchers but because I though they looked good, not because I needed too.
Well as standard equipment doesn't need to be moddeled on to the moddel you wont need to have it. only extra or new wargear is what you need to model on to your models.
The only situation where I could even conceivably be a problem would be a tournament setting. In friendly games its not a problem, but private tournaments have stricter rules that the tournament heads come up with. Some of them might be anal retentive enough to request it, but I doubt that. Since its standard wargear it shouldn't be a problem in most tourneys, especially if you explain that its the AoBR dread, which didn't have it in the first place.
indeed its standard how many bolter marines do you see running around with pistols strapped to them not that many besides i dont like the searchlight model and dont like to paint lights
My main battle problem is i take uber units as a challenge as to how many units i have to throw at it before it dies rather then tactical bring it down
