To keep a long story short, I'm looking to sell my entire collection of space marines and use the funds to start over, As crazy as it sound I'll be doing a fresh marine army, but going down the route of either Raven Guard or White Scars and its much easier to simply buy from scratch and make the army as fluffy as I can manage that way. Anyhow I currently have the following:
1 Captain w/ jump pack and lightning claws (not Shrike model)
1 Captain w/combi-weapon and relic blade
1 Captain w/ power weapon and bolt pistol
1 Librarian w/ terminator armour and storm shield
1 Command Squad
1 Sternguard Squad
1 Terminator assault squad
1 Dreadnaught w/ Assault cannon and power fist
1 Terminator squad
2 Tactical squads
3 Scout squads
10 Assault Marines
5 Devastator Marines
1 Attack Bike
1 Land Raider
1 Land Raider Redeemer
would anyone care to hazard a guess at how much this little bunch would be worth? before taking into account painting/basing etc which i plan on doing before selling them

To be honest with you, it's hard to sell a completed force. You need to do it well, or people just won't pay.
1. Figure out the amount between 50-75% of the box/model/etc when you first paid for it.
2. Add the cost of each paint/basing set/etc you use on it.
Add you the total, and this will give you a rough base to start with. Start with this price on E-bay, or maybe try your local GW store/gaming clubs/etc.
This is how I roll, and it should give you some place to start.
Depending on the quality of the minis put together, of the paint job, what extra bits you have (if any), etc. I'd shoot for about 50% of the original starting price of the force, plus some for the painting and the likes. Unless you get a very lucky break on eBay, you probably won't be getting a 1:1 deal for all the stuff.
As an aside... +1 vote for Raven Guard.
I usually sell stuff for 40-50% of the box price, I don't charge for any paint/glue/extra bits I put on the models. Add discounts for things like buying in bulk, when it's all said and done expect to have a few models left over and about 30% at the most of the monetary cost of your old army back in your pocket.

Eldar 3rd Overall/Best General of 26--2nd Overall/Best General of 7--1st Overall/Best General of 11
Thank you for all that great advice
I buy on ebay (let me know if you do put it up)
And i will only go up to half what i think its worth. unless its something i really need like a LRR and then about 2/3rds of the price
guessing your a normal person you will get nothing more for you paint job on it - less if you are not a good painter gluer.
You really dont get what you think its worth when selling unless you get lucky and get 2 people who really want it then you could get 2/3rds
At a guess i would put it at this - this is selling each item by itself as you get more that way but more hassle
1 Captain w/ jump pack and lightning claws (not Shrike model) £5
1 Captain w/combi-weapon and relic blade £4
1 Captain w/ power weapon and bolt pistol, £3
1 Librarian w/ terminator armour and storm shield, £6
1 Command Squad £12
1 Sternguard Squad if 10 man and have combis in there £25
1 Terminator assault squad, if 10 man £30
1 Dreadnaught w/ Assault cannon and power fist £7
1 Terminator squad if normal and 10 man £15
2 Tactical squads £16
2 Rhinos £14
3 Scout squads 10 man each? about £30
10 Assault Marines £9
5 Devastator Marines £7
7 Bikes £15
1 Attack Bike £5
1 Vindicator £10
1 Land Raider £22
1 Land Raider Redeemer £22
So looking like £257
, if everything was a 10 man and it was normal painting and you haven't overglued or have old models
Minus the cost of using ebay and to get those types of prices its always worth not overpricing your P&P
if you charging £5 for P&P for the vindicator you will put people off bidding, even if it does cost you that much - but if you put like £3.50 then your more likely to have your bid go up more than the £1.50 lost in P&P.
Dont overprice P&P on small items and do a bulk discount
- As i said im a buyer who bought 7K worth of tau and 7.5K worth of SM almost all of it on Ebay
Tau: 6K - W17-D3-L4, Orks: 4K - W9-D0-L2, SM: 7K - W7-D3-L4,CSM: 4K W5-D1-L1, Nids: 3.2K W3-D0-L2
Apoc games (mixture of armies used): W5-D0-L1
