neither (specify who)
Which one do you think is better?
Straken is cheaper, has a better save and is stronger in cc
Yarrick is a powerhouse in all aspects except tank poping
I am personally a major fan of Straken, as I play an infantry hesvy Catachan army I am always able to make good use of both his orders, with a very large combined squad, and the furious charge he grants my guardsmen is a huge boon with 50 guardsmen furiously charging in is a very great and unexpected asset. Yarrik on the other hand I find to be an overpriced Imperial Guard excuse for a tough guy. For the points many armies do the same thing much better.
Ask me about the Black and White Space Marine on the Black and White Bike!!!
Neither. They both are not worth their points.
I voted for neither. I would choose Marbo before I pick either of these two...second place would be Straken...I got no quarrel with Yarrick, but that Lobsta Claw looks redonkulous. I would never put a model in my army that looks like Red Lobster's Revenge.
How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time.
Straken. He's great, if not as hard as people think he is. He suits my style of play of "getting stuck in". The Furious charge is handy but the ability to knock Chaos Dreadnaughts out wins it.
Yarrick is cool but he's stupidly over priced. For those kind of points your opponent is getting something like Lysander who will splatter yarrick. I can only see Yarrick being used in Apoc games.
I voted Straken. He's cheaper, and is part of the CCS, so can issue orders, and leaves room for another HQ choice. He also boosts the CC abilities of everyone nearby, rather than just his own squad. Plus he's not an independant character, so cannot be targeted in CC. He's also a much better tank-buster.
It would be cool though to take both Straken and Yarrick. Come to think of it, in one CCS, you could legally have Straken, Jarren Kell, Nork Deddog, and Yarrick attached. Totally stupid I know, but it would be fun.

Between the two, Straken. The Imperial Guard must work as a team to win and Straken is by far the better team player--orders, countercharging and buffing up both leadership and defense all in one (slightly overpriced) model.
Though I'm not personally a fan of either. I prefer the "peeled onion" methodology of Creed.
