    Is this legal?

    Hi all! I am starting a Space Marine Army and trying to decide on a name but in the mean time I want to use two things as "filler" units.
    What I want -----> Instead of
    Dark Angel Veterans ---> Sternguard Veterans
    Sword Bretheren -----> Vanguard Veterans

    Now I think the DA Vets will be fine as they look similar, but I am wondering about the SB's. They can look the part except for the "jump packs" Is this ok or do I need to try to convert them with a bigger "pack"? Just curious on what other ppl would do/have done.

    Armies: 40k: Imperial Guard, Orks Fantasy: Skaven

    As long as your models are WYSIWYG, you can use any models you want. In tournaments, you are usually limited to GW-only (or primarily GW, based on a percentage). So, yes - it is perfectly legal! I plan on doing a similar thing, using the Dark Angels Veterans boxed set for my Sternguard as well (as they simply look awesome).

    As long as their weapons and equipment (such as jump packs, as you referenced) are modeled, you are fine and it is 100% legal.
