ive been playing for 5 years and finally got bored of easy to play marines and decided to switch to DH and i have some newbie questions.
1. Can Grand masters take a force weapon and a nemesis force weapon? and if this is possible would the force wapon roll at strength 6 or 4?
2. what is a better transport chimeras or rhinos?
3. If i take a group of marines in a rhino as allies does that rhino cost less points and get repair?
4. And are daemonhost worth using?
That said, while it used to be possible to give a GM (or BC) an extra melee attack just by buying a power weapon for the off hand, the 5th edition 40K rules made that impossible. Even buying a very expensive force weapon won't give the GM (or BC) an extra melee attack because the weapons -- a GK NFW and a "normal" force weapon -- aren't the same type. The NFW has its own rules independently of any force weapon capabilities. Even if you could do this, you wouldn't want to spend that many points on an extra attack. You'd be better off just master-crafting the NFW to begin with and save you a mess of points. If 5 attacks with a potential reroll aren't enough to smack something down, you've got bigger issues.ISTs should be 5 in number, no sgt, take 2x meltas and a Rhino. Always. The only exception is if you're inducting an IG platoon, in which case you should let the ISTs borrow an IG chimera. They're that much better. Same price as a DH Rhino, but more firing points and better weaponry. Otherwise, a Rhino is better for the kind of work that ISTs need to be doing for a DH army.Originally Posted by DHNEWBIE
An Inquisitor should take a Chimera if you can afford it, but a Rhino will do just fine.
You should realize that GKs can't ride in any DH Rhino or Chimera. They can only ride in DH GK Land Raiders or DH Land Raider Crusaders or in borrowed inducted IG Chimeras. You always use the rules from the codex the unit comes from. So yes, this does mean that IG get better and cheaper Chimeras and inducted SM Rhinos are cheaper and better as well.Originally Posted by DHNEWBIE
Note that you can't induct Space Marines into a DH army if you're using any GKs at all. You can induct IG or take allied Witch Hunters, that's it. The only way to get GKs and SMs in the same army is to play a SM base army and ally GKs into that. They're great fun, but not reliable or potent enough to be considered competitive. Use them because they're cool, not because you expect them to perform on the tabletop.Originally Posted by DHNEWBIE
Note that you cannot use any daemonhosts if your army is also using any GKs.
ninjabackhand: point and click, again, really? even after i give you an military term "shock tactic" you still call it point and click.
