So I've started collecting an IG army and this is very experimental for me as it will be my first army in which I include a multitude of different conversions and exchanges. I've notably been forming goggles out of green stuff for my infantry but I'm having alot of trouble getting them the right shape and what not so any tips would be appreciated. And if you have any cool ideas for converting models in anyway feel free to share them.
Perhaps istead of converting you could try to find a number of scout heads. I know that the normal scout sets come with an unbeleiveable variety of heads and the scout bike has a single biker with a choice of 7 heads. If you can find someone with a large number of scouts or go around asking a number of marine players you should be able to find a number of scout heads.
Worst case scenario you could try checking a bits site or ebay for scout heads.

As for conversions...I have a few you might emulate. My company commander is modeled as a dismounted armored crewman toting a lascarbine and a steaming mug of coffee (my list is mechanized). I have, but don't field, a unit of rough riders mounted on ogre kingdoms hunting cats (two have meltaguns, the rest are pistol and sword. I'll actually use them for tank hunting if they ever get fixed. Rough riders need to move like assault marines: move 12, charge 6). I have a command squad featuring a medic and four stormbolters. That unit was surprisingly powerful when hunkered down in 4+ cover when I still used it.

You could always look at oher companies. There are quite a few out their that do packs of heads with goggles. Google PIG IRON minatures and you should be on to a good start.
If you're using Cadian Models why not get the Forge world Kasrkin heads? I've got some and they're pretty darn funky.
Thanks for the replies. I checked out some other companies but I didn't really find what I'm looking for. I'm primarily trying to keep helmets on my guys while adding goggles, hence the green stuff. But if there are any other suggestions please feel free to share them.
Yeah, goggles can be hard to do well. The best way I've found to do them so far is to make two very small blobs of greenstuff, place them over the eyes and then push a small pinhead or other round object to flatten it. It makes an indent and a round circle. Look something along the line of WWI aviator goggles.
Mind you I've used it on orks, so it might not look as good on Guardsmen.

I would suggest just converting using the bits you aren't going to use for any thing else and just experiment with it a bit, you could end up with some cool looking models... or at very worst at least you weren't going to use those bits for anything else.
I took your advice and after looking around I found a couple of neat bits and pieces. Particularly some extra tau backpacks because my dad doesn't like the way they look on his fire warriors among other high tech looking equipment.
Also Morkai I like your idea about the goggles and will probably use that for tank commanders and valkyrie pilots etc...
