Hey just wanted to bring up a hypothetical topic to get some opinions on. With the rumored update of BT in the fall(which most of us can only hope to be false) I was thinking about the tragedy of fluff that the C:BT is. Furthermore, I was thinking about the sweet backround and indeed rules that one can work with when playing with the BT's cousins, the IF and CF. Now is it just me, or would it not be considerably better to just have a Codex: Sons of Dorn covering all three of these with its own ruleset(probably with certain characters for modifying the army list like current marines codicies) than having IF and CF left as a footnote in CM while the considerably less cool BT's get a dex to themselves(alberit a currently outdated one). Ofcourse this would be impossible under the current rules as you couldn't have rules in two codecies for the same army but say next time that they just left the BT's for now and instead next time they update CM just leave IF's and CF's out and then just somtime in the future do a combined dex for IF's and their successors(instead of having BT's be the only successor out there with its own dex whilst its progenitor languishes).
Also, sidenote, if anyone plans on complaining about marines getting updates before anyone else, or us not needing more marine dex's, please abstain from posting. Its not like anything we say here will actually effect what GW develops(or when) and so just leave the discussion to the adults. This is all hypothetical anyway.
Nevermore Chapter: 6200 pts; 97/49/11; Longest Streak: 9 Wins/4 Losses; Nearing Completion
well sadly, one of the big things about Imperial Fists is that they USED to be siege experts. After the heresy they reformed to become almost as codex as the ultramarines themselves. The only thing to really separate them from a PURE codex chapter would be their stubborn nature and unwillingness to give up a fight, which to be honest Lysander and Pedro Kantor have ruleswise (stubborn universal special rule). So while it's a nice idea, I can't see them doing it sadly...
Never judge someone until you've walked a mile in their shoes...by that time they'll be a mile away, and have no shoes
