I have decided to add a squadron of scout sentinels to my army, as I am going to be playing orks and nids mostly I wondered what I should put on them. But what I am most worried about is that it looks like I may be playing a few marine armies as well, although about 50% Orks and 30% nids. If i was to put a flamer on my sentinels should I also put hunter killers? These would be god for destroying ork trukks so it would allow them to be used in one ituation each match when I deffinately need to blow a trukk up. I have built the Sentinel but put no weapons on it. I think I should also add I will be adding a hellhound or perhaps bane wolf(undecided) to my army. Otherwise my anti-troop is a few autocannons(also used for trukks) and a russ. I have plenty of anti-tank(meltas lascannons etc.) I would like to use the sentinels because I think it would be fun to use the scout rule.
The best thing to equip them with is either Autocannons or Multilasers. Both give you the ability to hurt light armour at range. this makes for real nastiness when you use outflank and get lines of sight on rear or side armour. Even marine Vindicators are only AV11 on the side so autocannons will make a mess of them..
H-Flamers you'll only really get to fire once and Scout Sentinels won;t stand up to rapid fire or assaults due to the low armour and open topped.
Lascannons and Missile Launchers are both expensive and Sentinels only being BS3 they wont get enough hits to do the damage. The mathematicians will tell you Autocannons perform better at tank killing 2str7 shots is better than 1 str8/9.
Borak makes a good point. Id personally go with autocannons as they get two shots each, can outflank and shred side armor of vehicles or take down some heavy infantry at the same time. Multilasers are good as well but i just like autocannons better.
3 Outflanking Scout Sentinels with Multilasers. The wreck vehicles.

I never outflank mine. Autocannons for the win.

Multilasers for me, cheap and excellent against transports or infantry.
I have and use both. The Multilasers are cheaper and better at anti-infantry, but the Autocannons are much better at cracking vehicles. Besides, if you've got a lot of chimeras it feels good to change it up since they bring multilasers in abundance.

I'd take auto cannons. they still have a decent chance to kill armour 12 and pack better range as well as better ap. That more than makes up for their increase in points cost and fewer shots compared to the multi laser. The autocannon is also more effetive at killing enemy infantry with an armour save of 5+ or 4+ and a high toughness.
Also if you want to go and spend the points (and if you think its cool) three armored sentinels with plasma cannons can do some damage. Had a buddy of mine lose 8 out of his 15 long fangs in one turn thanks to those.
for those points though who might as well just take a leman russ executioner? (i think it's that one, with the plasma cannons)
