The Damocles rhino, Lucius-pattern drop pods, Tempest landspeeders, Deathstorm drop pods and many more exotic toys. Imperial Armour provides some additional goodies even for Codex: Space Marine armies. But those are expensive, and their rules are not accepted everywhere.
Do you own any Forgeworld models (either for standard Codex: Space Marine units, or for units from Imperial Armour)? Do you use them in your games? How often? How content are you with their looks and/or performance? How do your opponents react? Discuss.
I have a Mk. IV Siege Drednought from FW. (assault drill and inferno cannon) that I use in most games of Apoc. This baby is worth its weight in gold. Throwing a hellhound flamer template around wreaks a lot of havok. I also enjoy the look of the model. Has a gritty no-nonsense look to it.
I have a FW SW dread w/ Plasma arm and DCCW. gonna work on it over spring break!!
Want to get a dreadnoguht drop pod and millions of deathstorm, however my budget disagrees with me. I only run them in Apocalypse and even then our group leaves them out as their a bit experimental.
Beautiful models though.
I use Damocles rhino. Its good. Its cheap. Its easy to convert yourself. If my opponent is bringing lots of cheese to the battle field i just take multiple Damocles rhinos to even the field.
Eldar -APOC- 6500 Points
Chaos Daemons -Fate Crusher- 3500 Points
Grey knights - 1000 Points
I usually take my Stormlord (I have my own datasheet written up for it @ 800 points)
The Vindicator Line Breaker Squadron is fun to play with and the Whirlwind + Land Speeder combo is good for mashing up anyone with a 4+ or worse save.
I like the multimelta razorbacks, 40 points and vulkan makes them twin linked.
The sentry guns hold a spcial place in my heart. Yes they are easy kill points but if your army has plenty of speeders like mine they dont often get targeted until the end turns.
Quorn! - Protein for the Protein God.
I love it.Simply put, they aren't that competitive on a standard game usually, but you can add just so much fluff to a campaign with them.
You absolutely must let your opponent know you're bringing it to a table.
It's the static defences that i like the very most, (good for themed games too).
Although now, in apocalypse the super heavies have taken on a brand new shine (bigger = better. Titans, up to reaver are disgustingly good. I think the next apocalypse game my group plays may need some kind of restricting as it's getting silly now. and formations too. Maybe 1 formation / super heavy per 1000 points.)
Adeptus Mechanicus Marines: http://www.librarium-online.com/foru...ml#post1655065
I've got loads of it for my marines. Love it.
The siege dred works so very well in my games of planet strike coupled with my other dreds leaping out of 5 Lucious pods straight into close combat! Priceless.
LR Promethious is invaluable. 12 rerolled heavy bolter shots is just funny. Got a Damocles and a LS Tempest which works well.
