I've currently got a foot slogging army and would like to incorportate some artillery to pound my enemies before they get anywhere near me.
My question is how does the griffin/ collousus range finding trick work?
thanks to anyone to helps.
I'm not 100% sure on this but i think its like the guess in check, so you basically have to guess the range that the enemy is within, so you have an enemy there farther then 12 but closer then 48 instead of just firing at them you have to guess like say 36 and then check to see if you've hit them.

If I understand your question correctly:
You can use the Griffon's re-roll scatter dice rule if it is in a colossus squadron, but only if you fire with it first. You then place the colossus template next to the griffon's (hopefully) on-target shot. Valuable against orks and other IG, not so much for anyone else because squads are not so large as to be hit by the entirety of two large templates.
