I wanted to make mine a Vendetta, but I only see the one Lascannon. Do I have to order more bits or something?
Yeah GW were rather mean, the box only makes a valkyrie. Offical bits don't exist, FW do a nice conversion pack though. The LR side lascannons work quite nicely too, and I'm pretty sure they come as 'bitz', or else hunt down a friendly SM player who has a LR varient and see if you can pinch them or buy them.
I working on putting together an air cav army and just finished the first few. I used the lascannons from the heavy weapons team. You can pick up 3 of them from a bits store for abut $9 so it will cost you about $18 to convert it into a vendetta. I did a lot of research for it and this seemed by far the most economical way of doing things.
I built three Vendettas, two out of HW boxed sets and and one out of my old Landraider Crusader extra bits. I like the Landraider parts better.
Take the Hellstrike Missles that comes with the Valkeries. Cut the front and tail off and you have a nice mount for your Lascannons. For the front I put one Lascannon on either side and it seem to look OK.
Vendettas were GW way of saying, OK i'm going to give you Guard players the uber weapon you want, but to use it, you will have to pay!

Well, I think the Valkyrie missile pods look remarkably like exorcist missile launchers from the Forgeworld kit. Just find your local nuns with guns player, and offer to sell them for less than the price difference of a rhino-> exorcist. Use said cash to buy las cannons. Everybody wins.
