Tomorrow morning i'm going to fight a SWs player. Since i've never played against them before i'm asking to you fine lads if yo have some particular advices.
If you're list is a solid all-comers list, not relying on any one trick pony maneuvers, you should be good. They're just another space marine list, and die just like them. They've got fancy powers, but a demolisher shot to the face or a las cannon to the side of a predator kills them just the same.
The only time I ever played the space puppies, I decided to surprise my opponent with an aggressive IG list with GKTs and PAGKs. He certainly didn't expect that
But....it'll just come down to generalship. Deny him what he wants to do and do what you want to do. Stay away from CC, etc..
Oh, and don't group up your guys.
They are simply space marines, ok they may have some nasty abilities but they will still suffer from their small numbers from my experience use battle cannons etc to cause plenty of pain and catch them by using well timed orders- first rank second rank... worked for me.

Watch out for certain units. Their Scouts can come on any board edge and pop your tanks on the edges. They have fast cavelry that can be hard to kill and Rune Priests that JWW your characters etc.
I like mobile lists vs Wolves. A weekness that many wolves lists have is a lack of long-range AT firepower. Usually it is put into a Long Fangs squad (Devestators), so target that quickly if you have lots of tanks. That unit can split fire so many Wolves generals will put Lascannons and Heavy Bolters in it.

Yes kill the longfangs quickly and use veterans in chimeras with 3 plasma guns per squad.

Space Wolves are easy to outnumber.
Get some nice IG quantity with some nice toys and you should do fine!
Just stay out of CC
All very good points as roughly around 3 people have a space wolves army at my game store and from my experience here is what i can recommend:
-Long fangs must be your first target. The Space Wolves excel at close combat and depend alot of their anti-tank capability in their x4 lascannon totting long fangs since they can switch between targets.
-Be wary of giant wolfpacks of Fenrisian Wolves. Believe it or not massive units of these things are quite good. These guys are super fast and can tie down several of your units buying enough time for the long fangs and other units to do their worst. If you are not running a mech list expect these things to get into your infantry and well end of story.
-If they are running thunderwolf calvary for the love of god shoot those things! They are very expensive but a unit of those could literally win the game for your opponent, another of the units you should consider shooting first.
-Wolf scouts are very troublesome as they can appear right behind your tanks and with a few melta guns and meltabombs can really raise hell.
Really besides this they are not much different then from marines. Madcat made a good point that plasma guns are probably the best way to go when fighing marines especially in veteran squads. Also leman russ blass templates for those pesky long fangs and wolfpacks of fenrisian wolves. Good luck mate.

I totally dominated the abominations known as the Space Wolves last week in tournament play. Guardsman Marbo totally ravaged a five-man squad of Space Wolf Terminators, killing all but one with his demo charge, the last one was killed by a lucky Commissar shot. This totally distracted a dreadnought, who killed Marbo quickly, but then allowed itself to get the ire of a squad of Leman Russes, who unleashed battle cannons on it, killing it. Meanwhile, elsewhere, two Chimeras filled with two Veteran Squads rolled up on a Land Raider, both squads disembarked with three melta guns in each squad, blowing the Land Raider up, and subjecting to the Space Wolf Command Squad inside of it to the summary execution by these pyromaniacal Veterans. This shook the Space Wolf player up so much it was elementary from there.
It's aint braggin' if it's true.
