This guy that I play aganist at my local hobby shop runs this strange sm lists that seems to run like one of every unit. The best I have only been able to beat him once, but every other game is a tie. Here is what he runs:
HQ: Vulkan He'stan
E: 6 sternguard with combi weapons not sure what though but probably plasma
E: 5 assualt terminators 3 with th/ss and 2 with lightning claws with a land raider crusader; Vulcan joins this unit
E: ironclad dreanought in drop pod with a meltagun
T: 10 tactical sqd w/ flamer missle
T: 6 tactical with razorback with twin lascannon
HS: Devestator sqd with 1 plasmacannon, 1 multi melta 1 lascannon and 1 missle launcher
HS: thunderfire cannon
Thats pretty much his list for the most part though he does make slight changes in it. What he usually does is he finds a building to castle his whole army in, fortifys it with tech marine, put his foot tacticals in it, his devestators and his vidicator in it.He sometimes keeps the other elements in his army back for a counter charge or he sends them foward and the iron clad comes down and tries to pop a tank with the twin-linked melta gun.
Some tactical advice and/or strategy to combat this would be appreciated.
why is this in the witch hunter's forum?

FA: same as aboveFA: 6 seraphim with 2 hand flamers and a vet with a book
10 faith points
I've never lost to the sm list with this list, but I've only won one game out of 3. So I'm looking for some advice or things I haven't thought of to put it down faster. As for stuff avaible to me, this is pretty much it other than a sisters repentia sqd that I doubt would be useful. What I'm looking for is some strategy on how to approach the space marine army.
Castling and just waiting for an opponent to come to you is one of the more common Space Marine strategies because it basically allows them to use most of their weapons to the best advantage while the opponent slogs to them.
If your playing any kind of objective game you need to place your markers somewhere he can't just sit back and defend from, so your on a more equal footing. Youll also want to bait him out of cover as much as possible to ensure that your exorcists are worth their points, when stuff gets a cover save it greatly limits their damage capacity.
For kill points you also don't want to be the one slogging (even in rhinos) otherwise your on the back foot from the start unless you can destroy the dread and LRC.
You could take a melta torpedo as one of your heavy support choices, then key it to the building he's most interested in bunkering...hell, take three of them, and really screw with his battle plan. You can't throw your whole army into a building that's getting pummeled from orbit every turn...that would also free up points for more troops. Battle sisters are really the most points-efficient thing in the codex, and you'll also have another objective-claiming unit.
