So here's the thing, I'm building an Inquisitional army using the Dark Angels as a base, and adding Witch Hunters and Daemonhunters. I was planning on using SOB as the primary troops and GK Termies as elites. However after re-reading my codex I am slightly confused, since GK Termies seem to be twice as many points as normal GKs for only 1+ attack and armour save. So my question is; do you take GK Termies? If so why, if not what else? I'm really looking for a fluffy GK choice.
Terminators also have a 5+ invunerable save and have power-weapons, which makes them very good at killing things with good armour saves.
Wait don't the ordinary GK have power weapons too? I thought all the GK saves were invulnerable.
Well... I feel stupid now. I just re-re-read my codex and I have to say I don't know how I missed the nemisis weapon rule twice in a row like that. Anyway I gues that does make the Termies more useful, albeit only in CC. Anyone else have any thoughts on these big boys?

it seems to me that in 5th ed there is an abundance of cheap ap3 weaponry, everyone has something to send out a whole bunch of cheap ap3 shots (sternguard, battle cannons, sonic weapons, storm troopers and the list goes on) whereas for high shot ap2 weapons you have to spend alot more dough and you can never get the same concentration and utility of an ap3 weapon - i think this creates a niche role for terminators and their ablity to withstand most squads small arms fire which makes the grey knight termies the better choice - after all, if youre building your daemonhunters army as an attache` to dark angels then you already have tactical marines which will do a better job
Ah, the ever lasting quarrel, PAGKs vs GKTs.
Based on what you've said so far, GKT seem like the better bet for you. If you can be a bit more specific about your list it'd help more too, for example if you were a bit light on Troop selections I'd still say take the PAGKs, they aren't as nasty in CC, btu they still are a handful for sure and do boast more firepower.
and another thing we figured out in another thread is that if you take a naked elite inquisitor with a single cheap henchman that allows you to take the inquisitors LR, now this transport stats that it can transport 10 models but does not specify normal or termi armor. This being said, take a full 10 man squad of termis and throw them in the inquisitors land raider.
Edit: this only works if the inquisitor is WH because the DH transports cannot transport another unit except the one that bought the transport.
